U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice governmental candidate, will be checking out Detroit and Flint on Tuesday.

Harris has engaged with Michigan voters before. In August, she held a virtual city center to increase assistance amongst Black citizens.
Detroit and Flint are two bulk Black cities that are both in the state's most populous counties. Both of their counties– Wayne and Genesee, respectively– voted blue in the 2016 election.
In Washington, Harris is working to resolve problems that affect locals in Michigan cities such as Flint, where a state-led modification in the city's community water supply in 2014 exposed residents– a lot of them children– to lead. The state concurred in August to a $600-million preliminary settlement of civil lawsuits brought by locals damaged by lead throughout the water crisis.
In July, Harris introduced a costs making sure American citizens, especially those in at-risk communities like Flint, had access to tidy drinking water.
