FLINT (WJRT) (06/28/2020) – An over night cops chase sparked by a presumed hit-and-run left a guy dead in Flint.
Michigan State Police Lt. Dave Kaiser said the preliminary crash occurred around 3 a.m. Sunday at Fifth and Grand Traverse streets Sunday morning.
Bystanders pointed out a truck nearby as being at fault. But when an officer approached, the driver reportedly took off.
The Flint Police Department went after the truck, which then presumably strike and killed a bicyclist at Robert T. Longway Boulevard near Chavez Drive.
According to police, the truck then turned, pinning the guest inside. The driver supposedly fled on foot, however he didn't make it far prior to officers made the arrest.
Both the driver and the traveler were required to a local hospital.Michigan State Police state the bicyclist was a 44-year-old man whose identity won't be released up until family has actually been informed. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in
the incident, cops say. Michigan State Police are handing the investigation.Source: abc12.com
